Giffnock North had six athletes competing at the England Athletics u20/u23 Championships in Bedford.

On Saturday David Campbell qualified for Sundays final in the u20 400m hurdles in a new club record of 55.60, David was 7th in Sundays final.

High jumper Nikki Manson managed to hold of strong challenges in the u23 event to come away with Gold with a leap of 1.75 metres.

Neil Gouley cruised through his heat of the u23 1500m in a time of 3.49.50 and followed it up with a gold medal in Sunday’s final, his time gaining him automatic selection in a GB vest for the u23 European Championships in Tallinn, Estonia.

Rachel Alexander was 5th in the u20 long Jump with a leap of 5.91 and u20 Jenna Wrisberg was just outside her PB , coming 5th in her heat of the 100m with a time of 12.26.

Last but not least, fifteen year old Sarah Eunson qualified in her heat of the u20 women’s 800m joining two other scots, Mhairi Hendry (VP Glasgow) and Jemma Reekie (Kilbarchan) in the final.  Sarah ran 2.13.61 finishing 7th gaining very valuable experience.
