A small band of Giffnock Juniors crossed the border to compete in the England Athletics u15/u17 Championships in Bedford over the weekend. Two of them came away with Gold Medals.

u17 Erin Wallace covered all the moves in a slow 1500m final and surged away on the last lap to win comfortably in 4.30.11.

Alessandro Schenini also in the u17 age group, had a battle royal with William Adeyeye of Thurrock Harriers in the long jump.  Alessandro taking the title with the very last jump of the competition in a new club record distance of 7.04m.

Congratulations also to Reuben Nairne, who was 11th in the u15 pole vault final, Sophie Haldane who was 6th in the u17 300m hurdles final in a time of 45.04 and Amy Donaghy, 12.89 in the u17 100m.
