Thursday 11th June 2020

The Giffnock North Festival of Running takes place on Thursday 11th June 2020 in and around the grounds of the beautiful Rouken Glen Park in Giffnock, Glasgow.

It comprises of a 10k open to all aged 15 and above, and a 2.5k race called “To the Pond & Beyond”, open to all East Renfrewshire & South Glasgow Secondary School pupils and Fun Runs for Primary School children.

10k Information

Registration – 5.30pm – 7.00pm
Start time     – 7.30pm
Location – Rouken Glen, Giffnock, Glasgow G46 6UG

  • Some of paths are untarred.
  • Race is chip timed
  • ALL finishers will receive a dri-fit T-Shirt
  • Suitable for 15 years and above.
  • Pre-entry is required.  No entries on the day of the race.

Race numbers and timing chips will not be sent out. They can be collected from the Pavillion, Rouken Glen Park on the evening of the race, 6th June from 5.30pm-7.00pm.

Cost is £12.00, £2.00 discount for Scottish Athletics members.

Prizes will be given to:

  • first 3 male & female finishers,
  • first under 20 man & woman,
  • first male & female over 50.
  • Under UK Athletics Rules and SA Permit

Prize giving will take place on the night of the race in the park.

Changing Facilities
No changing facilities are available in the park.
Please come changed and ready to run.

If due to unforseen circumstances we have to change the start time or to postpone the event to another date, we will not return entry fees or pay any expenses.

If you withdraw from the race refunds will not be made.

 



 

To the Pond & Beyond

Registration – 5.15pm – 6.15pm
Start time     – 6.30pm Girls, 6.45pm Boys
Location – Rouken Glen, Giffnock, Glasgow G46 6UGA 2.5k chip timed race on paths within Rouken Glen Park for Secondary School aged pupils attending East Renfrewshire and Glasgow South SchoolsSeperate Boys and Girls races, Awards for the first three boys and first three girls in each race.The Battle of the High Schools
School Team Awards for the first three boys & girls teams.
Four to count per team in race order, this will be calculated by the race software. Enter as many runners as you want in each race.


CHARITY WINS
The school with the most finishers will recieve £500 to donate to the charity of their choice.Numbers to be collected at the Pavillion Registration on the evening of the race.


Primary School Fun Runs

  • Race for P5/6/7
  • Girls Run + Boys Run
  • Start 6:00 and 6:10 pm approx. All on park paths.
  • FREE ENTRY – non-timed – Goody Bag for all finishers.
  • No registartion, just turn up
