Scottish Indoor Age Group Championships U13s &17s

Giffnock North were extremely well represented at the Under 13 and 17 National Championships on Saturday 14th of February at Emirates with many stand out performances from our athletes!!
A special mention must go to David Allen, Erin Wallace and Reuben Nairne who all placed first, claiming National titles. David Allen won under 17 400m Gold in an enthralling race which went all the way to the line resulting in a well-timed dip over the line. David later backed his success up winning under 17 200m Silver, which was his fifth race of the day. Erin Wallace continued her success this season, taking both the under 17 800m and 1500m title in a stylish fashion and setting herself up for next week’s National Cross Country Championships. Reuben once again displayed superb technique over the hurdles, taking an emphatic win in the under 13 race. Rueben also took gold in the long jump and charged round the track in the 200m to take a well-deserved silver medal.
More success came from Sophie Haldane who ran a club record to take the under 17 300m bronze medal and later claiming silver in the triple jump. Amy Donaghy, having placed fourth in the under 17 300m, came back fighting in the 200m taking home a bronze medal albeit picking up an injury in the final. To make it medals all round in the 200m, Rosie McKay ran an outstanding race in the under 13 girls race to take a magnificent bronze medal; holding form throughout the race to take a new personal best time!!
Medals also came from Sarah Eunson with a silver in the under 17 800m, Murray Fotheringham Silver in the under 13 high jump.Alyson Bell with a bronze in the under 13, 60m, Sophie Inglis in the under 13, 60m hurdles .Full results are on Scottish Athletics Website http://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/age-group-champs-saturday/
