Our friends at Great Run have teamed up with us to provide one lucky family with an incredible action packed day out in Edinburgh.

On Sunday 19th April the Morrison’s Great Edinburgh Run plays host to a 2 person 10 mile relay (for the adults/parents), junior 2.5k (9-15yrs old) and mini 1.5k (3-8yrs old) events.

Great Run are providing one entry for each of the above events, perfect for many of our nuclear Giffnock North families. Though you don’t have to be ‘nuclear’ to enter.

We are looking to give these away as a complete package. Any Giffnock North family with a current member can enter. The rest will thank you later!

To be in with a chance of winning this great family prize all you have to do is answer the following question:

Which two Team Scotland athletes helped launch the 2015 Great Edinburgh Run in January of this year?

All entries should be in by Thursday 26th February. Correct entries will be drawn from a coaches hat on Friday 27th February. Over 16’s only should apply  – remember to include family name, and the qualifying members name. The qualifying member can be under 16.

Many thanks to Great Run who also donated a relay entry for the Endurance Night raffle last week. The prize of these additional family entries more than deserved it’s own competition.

Established in 2005 as a 10k run, the Morrisons Great Edinburgh Run returns to Scotland’s capital city for its second outing over a 10 mile route.  Starting and finishing in Holyrood Park, the course takes up to 5,000 runners on a sight-seeing tour of the city, featuring famous landmarks such as Greyfriars Bobby, the Royal Mile and Scott Monument.
The event also hosts a Business Challenge to get some friendly rivalry going between local businesses.
If the 10mile distance is just that bit too far, enter the brand new Team Relay event as a pair and split the distance almost 50/50. With the cross-over point in the bustling Grassmarket overlooked by Edinburgh Castle, it’s just over a mile’s stroll from the main event start and finish area.

The Morrisons Junior and Mini Great Edinburgh Run takes place on the same day, for children aged 3-15 years of age, over distances of 1.5k and 2.5k.

All finishers receive a t-shirt, medal, finisher’s pack and chip timing (please note the Mini event is not chip timed).  Junior and Mini runners receive their t-shirts pre event to wear on the day if they wish.
