Report by Billy Glasgow and Ken Allan

Following the lofty heights set by David Smith’s (New PB & club record of 2.26) Nikki Manson has just won BUCS today with a jump of 1.78m. This follows her win at Scottish Universities 2 weeks ago with a new PB and club record of 1.80m which equalled the women’s CGS qualifier last year. In between the 2 titles Nikki proudly paraded the Giffnock North vest at the Indoor Trials at Sheffield finishing an impressive 5th out of 10 in an event where British HJ records were being reset.

The juniors are also doing well David Lambie U20 won bronze at the age group champs with a PB of 1.85, Chris McKay winning Silver at the U17 age group Championship equalling his PB of 1.85 set at the Scottish schools, Ethan Dear (u16) won Gold in the Scottish Schools with a big PB ( 1.83 ) and Silver for Cat Reid with a PB of 1.55. PB’s also for Andrew Conlon 1.60 , Megan Kane 1.51 and Lauren Saxby 1.45, Reuben Nairne at SAIL ( 1.45 ) and Murray Fotheringham ( 1.40 ) and not to be outdone Rachel Callan & Niamh Flockhart have both set PB’s of 1.25 so our jumpers are certainly on the up.
