Scottish Athletics and SATS have  announced that the Indoor  records we  have previously highlighted are all now ratified. Well done to all the athletes, coaches, families and supporters including training Groups who contribute to these developments. 3 Sprint & Relay records  for Alyson Bell , 2  excellent Middle Distance ones  for Erin  Wallace and superb records also for Alessandro  Schenini and Jenna Wrisberg and our Under 13 Girls  & 17 Women ‘s 4x200m as well. What a haul over all these disciplines!

Jenna Wrisberg at 60 (7.50) 4.00) Under 20  “improved from her pre-meet PB of 7.62 to a remarkable 7.50, in winning the under-20 60 metres title by 0.29″

Alessandro Schenini had his 3 performances of 7.00, 7.00 and then 7.09 recognised as long jump records

Erin Wallace Under 17 2:06.59 at 800 and 4:25.75 at 1500.

At the Senior UK  Indoor Championships “Erin was edged into 4th place in a time of 2:06.59. That time was a new UK indoor under-17 best and removed an astonishing 3.69 seconds from Sarah Eunson’s Scottish under-17 record, set only last year. Eunson’s record had bettered Linsey Macdonald’s time, which had lasted as an U17 record for 35 years.” From SATS.

Sadly ,Erin’s 3000m fantastic time, of 9.36.07 places her 1st on P of Ten Rankings will not count as an U17 record.

“In the under 17 age groups, U17s are allowed to compete against seniors in open competition, and in championships. In considering Erin Wallace’s indoor 3000, the committee drew a distinction between “normal” mixed gender competition and a women-only championship where a male pacemaker (who was not entered for the championship) is added. As a result, that particular performance of Erin’s was not recognised as a record.”

 Alyson Bell‘s 8.11 and 27.26 under-13 60 and 200 metres times

Giffnock North AAC set new records for the under-17 4 x 200 metres relay (1:44.01) and under-13 relay (1:53.66), the latter performances giving Alyson Bell 3   fabulous records in this Indoor season.
