All the best to all the Club Athletes in the Road Race Championships this weekend  at the Battery Park Greenock. Its been noted  that we have a long record in these championships from events held in various venues including Strathclyde Park, Edinburgh University etc ever since they were inaugurated in their present form in 1995.

Dudley and Croy had this to say to the Road runners for Saturday “We have an outstanding history in the event” and I’m sure you would all like to keep this going and write your own bit of history this weekend. So go out hard and commit!
If you want to check that outstanding record its at the link below

We also note that when the event was in danger of slipping completely off the  SA Calendar [ including the event  not  being held in 2004-5] It was none other than Dudley who ensured that this did not happen, galvanising our Club to offer to host it at Rouken Glen and ensuring it’s development and continuation to the present day.

The club has enjoyed a successful  period recently both Indoor at the Relays,  Masters  & Combined events and also a significant group of our athletes represented West District over Cross Country at the Inter counties at Loughborough with significant performances topped by Hamish Armitt on the Podium in 3rd Place at Loughborough but in 1st Place overall as we reported already in the British Cross Challenge. Well done to all our athletes  from Under 13 Girls upwards whose performances over the XC season  earned them selection for the Inter Counties
