Adam Clayton (u17), Murray Fotheringham (u15) and Reuben Nairne (u15) made the journey to Sheffield for the English Age Group  Indoor Championships and were all well rewarded for the effort.

Most significantly was  double medallist, Adam Clayton with no less than a Scottish  Under 17 Men’s Age Group record on Saturday in the 60m with a phenomenal 6.90 and A Silver medal to hang around his neck. This record was previously Cameron Tindle’s from Edinburgh AC.  Prior to Cameron’s great  prowess in taking this record it had stood for years. Adam then added to this feat with a Gold Medal in the 200m.

Next up  on Saturday was Murray Fotheringham to take  Silver in the Under 15 Boys  800m with a terrific time of 2.03. 47 a massive PB , Top ranking in Scottish 800m and a place on the All Time Scottish Rankings . Murray also jumped 1.60 in his High Jump, also on Saturday and attained a PB in his 60m Hurdles heat on the Sunday.

Reuben Nairne took the Gold Medal in his u15 Pole Vault , rewarding Coach Brian Donaldson and the Glasgow Pole Vault School for the long trip down with the poles before also qualifying for the Final of the 60m Hurdles with 8.96 , Dipping under that 9 secs and earning himself a Club Record in the process. Reuben was then 5th in the Final another great effort.

Outstanding results for Adam, Reuben and Murray over a busy weekend .Congratulations from all at Giffnock North not forgetting our other club athletes,  Chris McKay (u20)who took 5th place in the High Jump with  1.95 and to Alessandro Schenini (u20) who took 5th place in the Long Jump,  with 6.86m.

The Summer and the outdoor season looms in a very promising way for  these sprinters , Jumpers and Multi Eventers . Congratulations not only to the Athletes but to the hard work of their coaches, their training groups and their parents and supporters .
