This weekend sees the Scottish Athletics Annual Awards night and this year we have strong contenders for awards in the Under 17 Athletes of the year category with Alessandro Schenini and Erin Wallace. Well done to Erin and Alessandro from all at the club . What a massive achievement and recognition for both.
Dudley Walker, as noted in separate post, has been nominated as Development Coach of the Year. Dudley is not alone at Giffnock North where we have several coaches with that long record of input & achievement and many others with less years but showing the same huge commitment to the development of club athletes.
We will endeavour to ensure that the same commitment we receive from our club volunteers, officials and committee members behind the scenes also gets recognition in the future at club level and beyond.
We are also nominated in the Off Track Club of the Year Category
Behind all this activity we have seen our athletes ranking very highly in the SATs Challenge with some outstanding performances this season
See the Full Rankings at the following link and thanks to SATS for all this information
“The SATS Challenge Rankings rank Scottish athletes based on the SATS Performance Tables on this website. The ranking scores approximate to 1200 points for the equivalent of a World Championship qualifying standard to 600 points for the equivalent of a Power of 10 Top 10 position at Under-15 level.
The Challenge Rankings are made up of an athlete’s top 3 performance scores in the 2016 outdoor season along with bonus points for performances at the Olympic Games, European Championships, British Championships and Scottish Championships.
