The summer was a busy time for the Committee, as discussed at last year’s Annual General Meeting we sought and were granted authority to change our constitution in order to allow us to apply to become a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), which in turn would establish us as a legal entity. We also informed those in attendance that we were of the opinion that it would be beneficial for us to move from GNAAC to GHA, again there was unanimous agreement for this proposal
So here is an update of what we have achieved, a new constitution has been drawn up, we applied for and have been granted SCIO status, we implemented a move from GNAAC to GHA and then secured the rights to our name in order to maintain our history within Scottish Athletics. I’m sure you can appreciate that all of these tasks has been time consuming as we have had to implement each task one after the other and each involved considerable waiting periods out with our control.
As we decided to make a slight change to our name we also took the opportunity to refresh and update our logo however this could only be done once we received confirmation that the new name had been registered and the registration certificate had been received. We can also advise you that we are also in the process of updating and refreshing some of our kit by changing the logo and material but maintaining our long established and instantly recognisable colours of Amber and Royal Blue.
Despite all this change It’s great to see that our athletes are still performing at the highest level with the onset of the Road and Cross country season. Finally our AGM will be held on the 29 of November and details will be circulated shortly.”
