I started coached athletics at U13 Endurance in 2018 and had previously coached youth rugby for five years. I particularly enjoy coaching track endurance and running technique although anything off-track is welcome too. For me being a coach is about constantly learning.
Both my children started with the Club as U11s after the London Olympics and I started coaching as a way of staying in the sport once they no longer need me as a taxi-driver. The best thing about coaching is witnessing the improvements that the athletes make and the effort they put in. There have been lots of memorable moments in coaching not just athletes winning medals but also the teamwork and camaraderie within the club, especially during the two trips we made to the Youth Games at Gothenburg.
