I started coaching about 15 years ago by taking small groups of secondary pupils out training at my secondary school. I have coached at Giffnock North now for 5 years when my twins joined the club.
I really enjoy coaching U11’s as they are always keen and enthusiastic. I enjoy working with kids in an informal setting as my job as PT Chemistry means I am working with kids in a more formal and disciplined environment.
I am a runner myself and get so much enjoyment out of the sport . I felt it was really important to help encourage others.
Seeing kids active and enjoying training is important to me, regardless of level or ability. There is something for everybody.
I love seeing kids looking out for others and encouraging each other to be their best. I’ve seen that a lot at Giffnock North and its not accidental. They have learned from other coaches that it is not just about winning or being the best but working together.
