Giffnock athletes were again making a good showing down in England. The England Athletics u20/u23 Championships took place in Bedford over the weekend (19th/20th June), with some stella perfomances from our athletes.

Alessandro Schenini was in good form taking the gold medal in the u23 Long jump with a leap of 7.47m.  In the pole vault, Reuben Nairne repeated his indoor PB and club record, of 5.05m to take silver, only missing out on gold on count back.

Alyson Bell took bronze in the u20 100m in a time of 11.92 battling a strong head wind. Another lady in good form is Rachel Callan, Rachel clocked a new pb and club record of 62.21 in the u20 400m hurdles to bring home the silver medal.  Another hurdler, Erin Campbel,  was sixth in the final of the u23 sprint hurdles final.

A massive well done to all our athletes who made the trip to Bedord.
