This year one of the parents attending wanted to make a donation to recognise all the efforts made and although it was late in the day and not organised in advance the Amount of £52 was raised.
We didn’t match Catriona and Teds efforts this year but have decided that in future years the event will request donations (Completely Voluntary) We hope everyone will agree with that approach. Results of the Handicap attached for those who didn’t see them properly on the day .
Well done all the athletes and everyone who helped us enjoy the event.
“”Thank you to everyone at Giffnock North Juniors for your generous donation of £52.95 from the Junior Christmas Handicap Event. Your support will help change lives in Glasgow. In our Christmas appeal we told of Stuart’s story. He has been volunteering and working with us since leaving rehab. It is a joy for our team to journey with him. Now in his position as a paid intern, Stuart works with our guests to encourage and advise them as they go through similar struggles to those he faced.
Stuart says, “Coming here [to Glasgow City Mission] gave me a purpose, right away. It gave me something to do every day – it gave me a chance to change my life.”
Thank you again to Giffnock North Juniors for your support, which is making a difficult time of year better for our guests and enables us to work with more people like Stuart.
We send our best wishes for the New Year.”
Cheers
