Fresh from his exploits at the World Half Marathon Championships in Valencia, Luke Traynor wasted no time in getting back into domestic competition.

At the 56th Tom Scott Memorial Road Races, incorporating the West District and Scottish 10 mile Championships, Luke set a new course record of 47.59 seconds to take the title. He was 1.44 minutes ahead of second place runner Kenny Wilson of Moray Road Runners.

In the Round the Loch 6k event it was a Giffnock 1-2, with Andy Bonnar in first place in 20.36 and Andrew Clark second in 20.43. Ross O’Brien (21.05) was our third counter in 6th place, securing the team prize.

Congratulations from all at the club, an excellent days racing.
