PBs Smashed at Scottish National Indoor Open Event
48 Giffnock North athletes took to the track and field in 10 different events at the Scottish Athletics National Indoor Open at the Emirates Arena, Glasgow on Saturday 12 Jan.

“Open” events are where athletes are grouped into heats where they compete against athletes with similar PBs, regardless of age or gender. In theory this means every race/jump/throw should be competitive and encourages better performances from each individual.
So that’s the theory, how did it work out in practice? Pretty good as it turns. As well as a new club Record for Rachel Alexander in the Senior Women’s Triple Jump with 11.22m, setting a new Senior Women record in the process. 29 of our athletes set new PBs on the day*. Well done to all of you. For full details, see Scottish National Open results on Power of 10. In addition the table below is a summary of Giffnock athletes setting PBs.
* This excludes any performances at SAIL Match 2 as the results from that event have still to be confirmed on Power of 10.
