Renfrewshire AAA Cross Country Relays – Making a splash at Netherpollok (22/10/2017)
The Yellow and Blue was well represented on Sunday at Netherpollok with some great performances across the many teams entered by Giffnock North AC.

U11’s
Giffnock Girls teams came in 2nd (Lucy Cree, Erin McKay & Lauren McPherson) and 3rd (Isla Munro, Molly Barr & Gabrielle Paddison) behind an impressive Inverclyde team, with Erin McKay recording the third fastest lap time. The boys went one better notching 1st place (Mitchell Scott, Craig Shennan & Calan Chong) and 2nd place (Felix Chan, Shay Garioch & Lewis Davidson), with Craig, Calan and Mitchell recording the three fastest lap times respectively and Shay and Felix and Lewis in 4th/5th & 6th Place. Some great performances from young first time XC athletes typified by Alexander Nehme who had a bad fall, but bounced back up and finished with a smile on his face – True Giffnock Grit!

U13’s
U13 Giffnock Girls ‘A’ team (Eva Chong, Hannah Ryding & Kate Paul) romped home in 30:11 to take gold, with Giffnock ‘B’ (Isla Scott, Rachael Moran & Kirsty Wylie) taking a great bronze. Special mention goes to Hannah (2nd fastest lap) and Isla (3rd fastest lap). Giffnock North took 1st place in the U13 boys relay with fantastic runs from the team of Cameron Green, Reuben MacDonald & Alex Robin. The boys ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams were pushed just outside the medals.


U15’s

U15 boys won their race with Ethan Carolan recording the fastest lap. Harris Paterson was 3rd Fastest and Ross O’Brien 4th Fastest.


Seniors

Great level of participation from the Seniors with several men’s and ladies teams entered. The Senior Women’s team consisting of Mary McCutcheon, Jill Smylie & Debi Scott came in 3rd with Jill the second fastest woman on the day. The men’s team of Niall Fraser, Harry Nimmo, Andrew Clarke & Sandy Nimmo came in 4th.

Onwards and upwards to more XC fun and success over the season!!
