A really enjoyable day in Bellahouston Park today.Brilliant performances throughout the age groups both male and female.
Of the team titles up for grabs I reckon we took 6 from 8.
U 11 boys took 1st and 3rd.places and the U11 girls finished 1st.,2nd and 3rd!!!.These U11s , some in their first Xc race, were looking tremendous and will be a real asset to the endurance squad when we welcome them to the under 13 ranks.
The U13 Boys won well.Girls took silver,U 15 Boys took bronze.U 15 Girls ran home first.U 17 girls won convincingly while the U 17 boys finished 1 and 2.
Moment of the day was Andrew Love’s sprint finish with Ryan Gray of Inverclyde and Craig Kennedy of Kilbarchan. ……..the boy is definitely back!

For the U11 Athletes at the Relays , many representing the club for the first time , the results were outstanding . In the U11Boys , we had 6 out of the top 10 Fastest Laps . 1st for the Gold was Mark McInnes , Scott Devlin and Adam Chamberlain and Craig Shennan, Jack Wallace and James Mowat took the Bronze medals. In the Girls Race we had the 3 fastest overall laps and 8 out of the top 10 . Amber Carter, Emma McLennan and Ruby White took the Gold Team prize with Eliza Turner, Lucy Moynihan and Josie Reilly for Silver and Erin McKay, Kristin Ross and Hazel O’Donoghue for Bronze . A clean sweep indeed. But as was pointed out to the Athletes its the whole Team effort that counts as well as all the medal winners .Some of them will still be U11 next year .
And the comment from Harry Martin sums it up ” I was really nervous at first but it was really good fun. I’m so glad I did my first cross country run. I cant wait for the next one.”
Another Giffnock Fastest lap for Oliver Watson Sweeney
The Senior Mens team took 12th place and our Women’s Team were 6th & 13th
