Giffnock’s senior long jumpers hit a rich vein of form at the weekend taking both Men’s and Women’s Scottish Indoor titles at the Emirates Arena.

Rachel Alexander, returning from numerous injuries, jumped a lifetime best of 6.04m to take the Women’s title and Alessandro Schenini , who also jumped a massive personal best of 7.31m, to take the Men’s. Both athletes are coached by David Watson. Megan Busby took a bronze medal with a jump of 5.63m in the women’s event.

On the track there were Gold medals for Grant Muir who took the 800m with a time of 1.54.78. Sprinters Jenna Wrisberg and Adam Clayton both claimed Silver medals over the 60m distance .

Under 17’s, not to be out done, were also in the medals. Murray Fotheringham won Silver medals in both the long jump (6.35m) and the high jump (1.94m). Bronze medals wee won by Adam Deverill in the triple jump (11.08), Oliver Maher in the shot putt (9.84m) and Kate Richardson in the 1500m (4.55.57)
