Across the pond and locally Giffnock North athletes were in action over the weekend of the 11th & 12th February.
Texas based Adam Clayton put in two great runs at the Jarvis Scott Open Indoor meet in Lubbock, Texas. Adam clocked 6.67 for his 60m, a new pb and club record. This puts him 6th on the All Time List. Later on in the 200m Adam set a time of 20.72, a new Scottish Indoor record. (subject to ratification). Great work Adam, keep it going.
Over in NewYork Neil Gourley was competing in the Millrose Games Wanamaker Mile. Neil clocked a fantastic 3.49.46 finishing second to the American Yared Nuguse who set a new American record. Neil’s time puts him second on the All Time list.
Meanwhile down in Sheffield, Calum Dick was taking Gold in the u15 800m at the England Athletics Indoor Championship. Calum clocked 2.02.24. Well done Calum.
At the Emirates Arena, Glasgow some of our youngest and oldest athletes were taking the honours at the Scottish Masters Championships and Junior Relay Finals. David Edelman (v65) took Bonze in the 60m clocking 9.76 and Silver in the 200m with a time of 31.75. Colin Wylie (v50) won Bronze in the 400m in a time of 61.76. Angela Kelly (v60)won Silver in the 60m and Gold in the 200m in 9.76 and 35.69 respectively.
In the Junior 4x200m Relays our medalists were as follows:
Under 15 Boys – Gold – Alexander Clark, Zander Summerhill, Nathan Booker, Angus Weir
Under 13 Boys – Bronze – Charlie Murray, Ayden Beard, Michael Nordmann, Austin Summerhill
Our u13G and u15G both came 4th and our u17G were 5th.
