EVERYONE at Giffnock North AC is beyond proud to have two of our club athletes representing Team GB at the World Championships in Budapest: Neil Gourley in the 1500, and Alyson Bell as part of the 4×100 relay squad.
To follow them, look out the timetable and work out when to see their events, live or on catch-up. Come on, you know you love shouting at your tv, phone or i-pad.
Alyson has thoroughly earned her place in the sprint relay squad at just 19 years of age, following the steady but impressive progress she has made over recent years.
Neil has continued his exceptional rise towards the top of the World Rankings for 1500m with a phenomenal season, rewriting his own PBs and taking medals (silver at the European Championships, behind only Jakob Ingebrigtsen) and another British Championships crown.

Our training groups of all ages are aware of the importance that this global event holds for these athletes and our club: having them simply qualify for the team is inspirational in itself.
Whatever the next week or so holds, Alyson and Neil are established as exceptional athletes as well as outstanding role models.
As our pictures show, we send them world-class best wishes for their Budapest adventure. Go, Alyson! Go, Neil!
Thanks to Luca, Lola & Keira Saez for making their poster and to Isla Mostyn whose poster is on its way to Budapest with Neil’s Dad Ronnie We hope to catch sight of it in the stadium perhaps!
