Celebrating Nikki on International Women’s Day

As March 8th International Women’s Day comes to a close,  amongst all the other female athletes in the club today we wish to highlight & celebrate Nikki Manson. Not least because Nikki has just undergone major knee surgery today and will now be starting on her recovery and rehab. The club sends Nikki all our best wishes on that journey .

Sam O’Kane has assisted us with this starter profile on her prowess.

Nikki Manson –
Nikki holds the top spot among High Jumpers in Scotland with both the outright Native 1.92m and National High Jump Records 1.93, but don’t let that trick you into thinking she is but a one trick pony in January this year Nikki scored an impressive 3813 points in her senior Pentathlon debut taking the club record and going 10th all time for Scotland and later at the Scottish National Senior Championships in February broke the Indoor Native Long Jump record when she leapt to 6.37m in the Emirates Arena, a mark which puts her second all time indoors for Scotland. A talented allrounder Nikki also holds an impressive 10th place in the Scottish all time Javelin list (with a throw of 41.54), and club records in the senior women’s shot put.

Currently coached by Alasdair Strange and Sam O’Kane, Nikki takes particular pride in the fact that she’s set all her current Personal Bests while based in Scotland, working with Scottish Coaches and hopes to be a visible source of inspiration to developing Athletes around her!
