Club Awards Night 2025

On Saturday the 8th of November our athletes and parents swapped their training spikes for smart shoes as we held our annual club awards night for all U13 and above.

Athletes and Parents were invited to celebrate and honour all those who have represented themselves and Giffnock North AC so profoundly over the last year. As a club our range of achievements covers the whole roster of events. From Club Championships, Scottish Schools, National Championships, Cross Country and even Great Britain representation at the highest level!

We were very grateful to have Erin Wallace, one of our elite athletes and great role models of the club to present the award and answer questions on the evening. She has had an incredibly successful year setting numerous PB’s and bringing the season to a close representing Great Britain at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. She gave an insight into her training routine and what it takes to get to the elite level in the sport through the Q&A session at the start of the awards. Thank you also to Gerry Duggan who kindly took the role of host and MC for the night too.

First on the agenda we had the very successful September Club Championships medals presented. This was followed by national title certificates presented to those who had won national titles. In total 17 different national titles were won this year by Giffnock North Athletes! Finally, the age group club awards. A very difficult decision every year but it is great to be in a position where we must make these difficult decisions. A great showcase for the depth and talent of the athletes in the club.

Thank you to all those involved in the success of Giffnock North athletes over the past year. From coaches, officials, volunteers, parents and the athletes themselves. Everyone had something to celebrate.

All photos from the evening will be posted on our Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/giffnocknorthac/?locale=en_GB
