Scottish Indoor T&F Age Group Championships

It was a busy weekend for Giffnock North AC Track and Field athletes, starting off on Friday night with Kyle Alexander winning the Scottish Senior 400m at the Emirates arena in a time of 48.41. Nikolai Gajic finished 4th in the 1500m in a time of 4:01.71 and Reuben Macdonald finished 5th in the 3000m in 8:44.55.

On Saturday in Birmingham at the Muller Grand Prix, Erin Wallace posted a World Indoor qualifying time in her 1500m race as she finished fifth. Erin clocked a big indoor PB of 4:08.90 and that is the fourth fastest on the Scottish all-time list.

In America Adam Clayton continues his rich vein of form, lowering his Scottish 200m record (STR) still further clocking 20.86 at an open meeing in Texas.

Rachel Callan also set a new PB and club record in the 400m at BUCS, Sheffield, in a time of 55.70 (further details to follow)

On Saturday and Sunday there was a very good turn out by Giffnock North AC from under 13s, u15s & u20s, performances includes two Scottish Records subject to ratification)  Angus Weir & Rory Taylor-Young.  The medal winners were as follows.

The future looks good for all our athletes, particularly within the younger age groups as many were first year within their age groups. Nevertheless they all performed very enthusiastically and showed great determination to do well, Well done to all who competed for Giffnock North A.C.
