The U12/13/14 Giffnock North AC Christmas Disco/Awards night took place on Friday the 5th of December.

In the absence of Dudley Walker, John Shedden stepped up to the mark as MC. Thanks very much to John and all the parent helpers who contributed on the night.  Lindsey Church, Karen Brown & Sabbah Rai & also to our DofE Volunteers Eve Cameron & Maia Fernandez McCann. Absolutely outstanding presentation at Awards Night by Nikki Manson at the Christmas disco on Friday 5th December for Giffnock North under 11/12/13/14 Athletes. We are so privileged to have Scotland’s record holder high jumper and native record holder, long jumper in our club. Nikki answered loads of questions about her athletics career and her training for L J this season as we look forward to the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. As well as her own training, the very busy Nikki coaches at the School of Sport and is the Co ordinator for the GAA (Glasgow Athletics Association)  delivering excellent athletic competition across all disciplines.

Have a look at Nikki’s performances on Power of 10.  After graduation in Scotland she did a post grad degree in the USA at the University of Akron and excelled there as well – gaining All American status in her High Jump,  Selection for the Scottish Team at the Commonwealth Games in Australia at the Gold Coast and GB selection for The European Championships. 

Certificates for Star Track were awarded and medals presented for club championships.

The 11 athletes of the year were Joint Awards this year with Alexandra Rough & Isabella MacKenzie taking the honours for the girls and Adam Rai & Samuel Church for the boys.

Our  DJ did a great job with the music and games – great moves on the dance floor – and everyone seemed to enjoy the night – including the pizza which was devoured.

Nikki and Sam decided to stay and watch the fun and then joined in the dancing, great job thanks again Nikki!
