Giffnock athletes young and not so younger were busy in competition over the weekend. Indoors on the track and on the road.
National Indoor 4x200m Relays
Giffnock teams contested the relays in all age groups except u17 Men. It was double Gold for our senior teams with Ladies team of Rachel Callan, Freya Cowan, Eve Denholm& Caroline MacConnell clocking 1.41.99 for the win. Our senior Men’s team of Murray Fotheringham, Kyle Alexander, Jason Wu & Edward Joyce raced to victory in 1.29.16, a new club record. Check out their race videos below.
Relay Heats for U13, U15 and U17 athletes took place on the same day, with the finals to be run on Sunday 12th February.at the Masters/Para Championships.Giffnock qualified teams in all age groups except u17M.
Scottish Masters Road Relay Championships
Many congratulations to Allie Chong, Mary McCutcheon & Yvonne McNairn who took Gold at the Masters Road Relays which took place in Strathclyde Park. Yvonne running the fastest female leg and Allie the fastest v50 female leg.
The B team of Nicola McBeath, Hilary Carswell & Jill Smylie hunted down the teams from Calderglen and Kirkintilloch to take a well deserved silver medal.
