Club Success at the 4JStudios Scottish Athletics National Indoor Age Group Championships

This weekend the Emirates hosted the 4JStudios Scottish Athletics National Indoor Age Group Championships. Athletes from across Scotland competed over the Saturday and Sunday in U13, U15 and U20 competitions. It was fantastic to see a return to indoor championships after a year off.

On Saturday the Club had success in both sprints and middle distance. Whilst not everyone gained a podium place several PBs were recorded and it was great experience for those that participated.

On Sunday there were 15 Giffnock North girls on the 60m start line, which must be some kind of record for the club!

In the U13 boys 60m we had six boys on the starting line, two of them medalled. Well done to Matthew McLachlan for his well-earned silver medal and Noah Paisley on his bronze. Alongside his podium place, Matthew McLachlan also claimed the Club Record, congratulations!

Teammate Hugo Stewart came away from the day with three medals – bronze in the hurdles, silver in the high jump and topped his day off with gold in the long jump.

Matthew McLachlan and Noah Paisley refocused and got to the 200m final where Noah won his second medal (silver) of the day and claiming a Club record.

Across the two days there were many PBs and it was fabulous competition experience for all the athletes involved. Thanks to everyone who took part, coached and supported.

Podium pics are available on our Giffnock North Facebook.
